Given my history studying radio, it might not be too surprising that I really enjoy podcasting. The first podcast I put together was a short-run show I did with a longtime friend named Luke Lindberg. Happy Time was a big success among our friends and it was lots of fun to do.
I also have started a few other personal podcasts, including a show I called This Modern World and a interactive show called The Mike Schramm Shoe. Both interesting to do, though not very regular or focused.
At WoW Insider, I produced and co-hosted the WoW Insider Show podcast, which was the first podcast I worked on that actually garnered a following. We had a lot of fun people on there (including most of WoW Insider’s writers), but of course my favorite was the very talented Mark “Turpster” Turpin, who has done lots of great streaming and podcasting before and since.
Turpster and I had so much fun on the WoW Insider Show that when it ended, we started another show. We went a little humble with the title, and called it The Incredible Podcast of Amazing Awesomeness, or Tipoaa for short. Eventually we both got so busy doing our own different things that it puttered out, but not before picking up tens of thousands of listens per month.
I also helped put together a few other shows, including Shrinks, MD with my friend and former colleague Dave Hinkle, and an online beer show called Craft Beer Buds with a videographer friend in San Diego.
I’ve guested on quite a few podcasts over the years as well, including the TUAW Talkcast and the Joystiq podcast, Weekend Confirmed, Totally Laime, Doug Loves Movies, 1000 Scenes, Systematic, and more.
I like podcasting a lot! If you have a podcast that you think I’d be good on, feel free to reach out and let me know.
